2024 Imperial Program - FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

The Imperial Program is paintball's longest running sponsorship program for tournament teams. Imperial teams get to shoot GI Sportz paintballs and wear Empire, JT and Vforce gear. In other words, they shoot the best paint and wear the best gear.

GI Sportz paint won every single NXL Xball event all year long except two D5 events (and one of those two teams switched to GI paint). That means the other 3 paint companies COMBINED won only two lower division events all season long. Not just that, when you join the Imperial Program and win, GI Sportz will pay your paint bill (see below for details). So you get to shoot the best paint, wear the best gear and GI pays for your paint after you win.

Pro teams like San Diego Dynasty, San Antonio Xfactor, and ac Diesel as well as last year's Semi-Pro teams like Paintball Fit and Blast Camp are part of the Imperial Program. However, divisional and event local teams make up the majority of Imperial teams. Any team with a good reputation who wants a better deal on pro level equipment and to pay less for the best paint at NXL events can apply.

Yes! We've been buying winning teams paint since GI Sportz's inception. There are obviously some rules so read below. But for example, Paintball Fit won all 5 NXL events in 2023 and didn't pay for a single case of tournament paint all season. Not just that, we also offer contingency for just getting on the podium.

That's just our name for winning free paint at NXL events. The higher your tier and the higher you place, the more of your paint we pay for. All In and 5 Star winners get their paint bill completely paid right on site. 4 Star winners get half their paint paid.

GI Sportz pays for your paint bill right at the NXL event. No waiting.

NXL contingency (free paint for winners or teams who place) is for the following NXL Xball divisions: Pro, WNXL, Semi Pro, D2, D3, D4, and D5. Additionally any 5 man airball NXL event qualifies in 2024 if the division has 30 or more teams.

Paint pricing is lower than ever. See below.
All 2023 Imperial teams that sign up for All In or 5 Star tiers in 2024 qualify for $20 cases of paint at their first NXL event!
We've added contingency (free paint for winners) for all 5-man airball NXL events that have 30+ teams.
Imperial Teams that sign back up for 2024 don't have to buy all new gear. See below.

All 2023 Imperial Teams who sign up for Al In or 5 Star in 2024 qualify for $20 cases of paint at the first NXL event they attend in 2024. 2023 Imperial Teams that sign up for 4 Star in 2024 pay only $27 for their first event. Imperial teams of course still qualify for contingency under the same rules no matter what they pay for paint.

Teams must have been an Imperial Team in 2023.
This deal is only for teams that reup.
This deal is only good for their first NXL event of 2024. It does not have to be Las Vegas.
Teams will still be eligible for contingency.
4 Star is eligible for $27 paint for their first NXL event of the season.

GI Sportz makes the best paint and produces literally 20 times as many winners as the other 3 paint companies combined. Teams who aren't sponsored typically pay between $35 and $45 per case of paint.

Imperial Teams pay less than anyone else, but it depends on what tier you signed up for.
All In pays only $24 a case at NXL events.
5 Star pays only $27 a case at NXL events.
4 Star pays only $30 a case at NXL events.
If you are not part of the Imperial Program then paint is between $35 and $40 per case and we won't pay for any of your paint if you win.

It depends on what tier you signed up for. See below:

All In: 1- 4th all qualify for contingency
1 - 100% of paint bought at event is paid for by GI Sportz
2 - 60% of paint bought at event is paid for by GI Sportz
3 - 30% of paint bought at event is paid for by GI Sportz
4 - 10% of paint bought at event is paid for by GI Sportz

5 Star: 1 - 3rd qualify for contingency
1 - 100% of paint bought at event is paid for by GI Sportz
2 - 50% of paint bought at event is paid for by GI Sportz
3 - 25% of paint bought at event is paid for by GI Sportz
4 Star
Only 1st qualifies for contingency
1 - 50% of paint bought at event is paid for by GI Sportz

That's great! The Imperial Program works with fields and stores. You'll actually be getting your gear from them.

All purchases will go through your local field or store. They can help you with the options and getting your custom jersey ordered.

Imperial teams get discounted gear but there's no set price for packages since it allows you to pick any of our gear that you want.

No! Each player returning on the same Imperial team they played on in 2023 will only have to purchase a harness, pants and 5 lenses to reup. Those are the wear items that typically get used and abused a lot during a season. Just wear your jersey and goggles from last season. A player joining the team who didn't play with the squad last year will need to buy the full package. Teams upgrading tiers will need to buy the gear to join that tier. So if your squad is going from 4 Star to 5 Star then you'll all have to get a loader.

Unfortunately not at this time. No contingency is currently available for Mounds, 10 man, 3-man or any Mech events.

Anyone who bought one of the pre-release test Triad loaders in 2023 will get it updated or replaced at no charge. We will keep you updated on when updates and new loaders will be ready. You don't have to buy a loader for your package if you have yours from last year. There were no production loaders released in 2023, so if you have one, it's a test one.

Unfortunately not. We just don't stock enough at the event to sell at a discount - even to dealers or Imperial Teams. You can always try on Sunday just before noon though.

No. Each players must wear JT, Empire, or Vforce goggles, but you don't all have to wear the same brand.

You get custom jerseys as part of your package but if you get multiple styles of jerseys you don't all have to match. However, you do need to all wear Empire or JT jerseys.

As soon as possible! The 6 weeks before Event 1 get very busy so we expect teams who need jerseys to order sooner. We highly recommend starting the process now.

No. As long as you are wearing Empire or JT pants, you don't have to match.

Please make sure all team members are wearing Empire, Vforce or JT goggles at every event. If your goggles are still on order, make sure you still have Empire, Vforce or JT goggles to use for the event.

Unless we announce otherwise, you aren't under obligation to use that item until.
